Janet chose KATA Jewellery for her pendant – a deeply personal transformation of the past into something modern. Crafted from her Grandfather’s antique gold watch, the pendant preserves the essence of a treasured heirloom while re-imagining it into something uniquely her own.

Rather than a traditional symmetrical design, Janet wanted something distinct; Jennifer designed an off center heart that balanced contrast and texture. One side was crafted using smooth, tapered gold, the other using an ancient goldsmithing technique called granulation. Nestled amongst the gold grains were diamonds, re-purposed from an old ring, adding a subtle sparkle.

Janet’s pendant is deeply tactile; designed to be touched, held and cherished. With every wear of her personal and modern heirloom, Janet can feel the depth of it’s rich history and heritage.
