You are the only person for whom the booking is intended.

One booking is for one person only. Each separate person will need to have purchased their own space in the workshop to allow us to deliver the workshop safely and effectively.

The Workshop

Health and safety precautions must be followed and adhered to at all times in order for processes and techniques to be carried out safely. You must listen to the safety briefing and sign a waiver prior to the workshop commencing.

The Jewellery workshops will be held in our purpose-built workshop on the second floor only accessible by two flights of stairs which are moderately steep. There is no lift. Unfortunately, we are not able to cater to mobility issues at this time.

Anybody under the age of 16 needs to accompanied by a paying adult who will take responsibility for them and sign the safety waiver for them on their behalf. Children under the age of 12 will not be permitted to participate in any workshop unless written permission is granted by KATA Jewellery. No young children may accompany paying adults.

You cannot attend a workshop if under the influence of alcohol or any other substance or medication which may impair your ability to carry out the workshop safely and correctly.

The total number of participants in the workshop (Wedding Band Workshops excluded) will be no more than 6 plus the goldsmith. This is not a private workshop, bookings will be grouped up to a maximum of 6 people.

Toilet facilities are available.

There is no parking on site, however there is parking at John Street car park across the road from KATA Jewellery.

You can bring a soft drink but no food.

The Product

the product you will be hand making will, by its very nature, show signs of being handmade. It will not have the same finish as if it had been made by a qualified goldsmith.

Wedding Band Workshop – Additional Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions specifically apply to the wedding band workshop. All other T&C’S apply.

Please make sure you book your wedding band workshop with enough time between your workshop date and your wedding date. We generally advise 4 weeks minimum but in circumstances where you need your rings sooner, supplementary charges will apply.

If booking a last-minute workshop, you may need to pay for additional services such as the faster hallmarking service. Extras such as engraving and stone setting may not be possible.

The workshop charge is paid for at the time of booking.

A design consultation must be arranged and attended a minimum of four weeks prior to any wedding band workshop. During this consultation, your metal choice and wedding band design will be finalised. You cannot change designs previously agreed upon in your design consultation during the workshop.

After your design consultation for your wedding bands, 50% of the price quoted must be paid 2 weeks prior to your wedding band workshop commencing giving KATA Jewellery time to purchase the appropriate materials specific to your workshop. Failure to do this may result in your workshop being cancelled or delayed incurring a fee.

The final balance for your wedding bands will be payable before collection or delivery. The final invoice will include any optional extras you have chosen such as engraving and stone setting.

Start times for your workshop are agreed in advance. If you are more than 15 minutes late to the start of your workshop, an additional fee of £25 will be added to your final balance to cover the time needed to make your rings and for your extended use of the workshop. If you are later by 30 minutes of more, the fee will increase to £50. Your goldsmith may not be able to stay later at the workshop therefore you will need to leave your ring with us to complete for you which will be charged at our hourly rate.

The workshop is 3 hours long from 10am to 1pm. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided. Clients can bring their own soft drinks.

You cannot take your wedding bands away with you on the day of your wokshop as they will need to be sent for hallmarking (hallmarking jewellery is a legal requirement for all precious metals sold in the UK).

Once hallmarking is completed, you may collect from the KATA Jewellery Tunbridge Wells branch, or we can arrange for them to be delivered by Royal Mail Special Delivery with the appropriate insurance or a courier service. Delivery is chargeable.

The booking fee is refundable up until the time of your wedding band consultation which will be held at least 4 weeks before your workshop.

If we must cancel your workshop, we will give you as much notice as possible. We will offer an alternative date or a full refund.

The 50% deposit paid towards the cost your wedding bands is non-refundable two weeks from your workshop commencing.

If you are unable to attend due to illness on the day, an alternative date will be provided subject to availability. If no workshop dates are available prior to your wedding date, we can craft your wedding bands for you with the final balance off the bands being payable on completion.
